Is the race officially timed?

Official times will be provided by our timing company and will count for your new PB! These will be posted on social media and linked in our post race email to you.

How old do I have to be to run?

4 years old or older on Race Day for Mini Mile, all under 16s must be accompanied by Adult in the Mini Mile and Mini Marathon races, and 16 years+ to take part in the 10K. You must be 16 years or older on race day to take part in the 10K.

Is there a cut-off time?

All participants must complete the Green Park Reading 10K within 1 Hour 30 minutes to ensure that the roads can be reopened on time.

Is there a medal for finishers?

Yes! We have a Green Park Reading 10K medal for all finishers in every distance.

What time does the race start?

The 10K begins at 10.30am, the Mini Mile begins at 8.30am and the Mini Marathon begins at 9.15am.

What are the dates of the races?

The Green Park Reading 10K and Family Runs are held on Sunday 2nd June 2024.

Where does the race start?

The race starts and finishes at Green Park, Reading.

Is there a map of the course?

Absolutely - a map of each distance is available on the distance specific race pages.

Where do we collect our race number from?

All Bib Numbers are posted out in advance of the event - but should you need to collect a replacement or a late entry, you can report to the Race Registration tent in the Event Village on Race Day.

How much is the entry fee?

10K: £23 Affiliated, £25 Unaffiliated

Mini Marathon / Mini Mile: £11

All registrations are subject to a small booking fee.

What entertainment is available at the event?

More details will be posted on this closer to the event - but expect music, food and drink!

Can I run with my dog?

Unfortunately, as per UKA rules, running with dogs is not allowed.

Can I bring my dog to the event village?

Dogs are permitted on leads within the event village but are unfortunately not permitted within the race itself.

Can I run with headphones?

Bone conducting headphones are allowed in line with England Athletics rules, but in ear headphones of all types are banned from this race.

How many places are available?

The number of general entries varies by event / distance. There are also details on Charities that we work with via the Charity page on this website.

Is there car parking at the event?

The official event car parking is based at the Select Car Leasing Stadium, home of Reading FC. Race day parking is managed by the club and booked directly via their ticketing platform - at £8 in advance, or £10 on the day. You can pre book via the below link:

Who are the event organisers?

The event is organised by Good Running Events Ltd.

Am I able to transfer / defer my place?

Please check the registration pages for specific details about deadlines for transfers and deferrals. No transfers or deferrals will be accepted after the advertised date/time, shown within the event description on the registration page. This is also publicised via social media.

Are there toilet facilities available at the event?

Yes - there are ample toilet facilities available to use in the event village, as well as on course at the water station. Further details on locations for both can be found in the Event Guide.

Are there water stations on route?

The 10K event will feature two water stations.

Are we still to collect our race number on the day?

All race numbers are posted out to runners unless you have entered within one week of the event. However if you have not received a number you can collect a replacement on race day by heading to Race Registration.

Can I run the route in advance of race day?

Green Park Reading 10K is held on closed roads - but all roads are open to the public, and the event is held on 60mph roads when not closed for the event, so any route reeces are not recommended ahead of race day, and carried out at your own risk.

Is the event licensed?

Yes, the event is fully licensed with Run Britain and England Athletics. The 2024 permit reference will be confirmed once in place.
